Working with Images
There are three different ways to add an image to a document using the Requirements Editor tool and the Expere Engine. The decision to use one method over another is totally dependent on the scenario. It is possible to use multiple image methods in a single document if needed and appropriate.
An InlineGraphic is embedded into the REQ file. InlineGraphics are best when the graphic is not going to change; a company logo would be an example.
An ExternalGraphic is “called” from the REQ and needs to be located in a specific location. ExternalGraphics would be a wonderful way to have a corporate logo and an image/logo for the branches that have their own precedence level. The corporate image file would reside at the base content level; the branch image would be in the precedence level. If the branch does not have an image, the corporate logo from the base level would appear.
A TransactionGraphic joins the document at the time that the transaction is processed and becomes part of that document for that assembly. If a TransactionGraphic is used and no image is included in the transaction, no image will appear in the document. Like an ExternalGraphic, the vertical space of the TransactionGraphic can be retained if no graphic is passed and the attribute is set, or can be removed if the attribute is not selected. TransactionGraphics are best when the appropriate Loan Officer’s electronic signature image is to be included based in the document.
